I’ve just booked my 100th gig for 2026! Last year it took til June to get to this many bookings, but this year it happened in only February! Sometimes I cannot believe I have my dream job and that it’s going this well. I took the leap of faith a year ago, and was stoked to find I not only stayed above water, but have been more successful at this than any day job I’ve ever had. Thank you everyone who’s supported me, by attending my shows, housing me on tour, or just giving me words of encouragement. It’s sooo scary trying to be an artist in this ruthless world of capitalism. I could NOT have done it without my community!!! It’s a gift and a privilege you’ve given me. As passionate as I am for making music, there’s something vulnerable about putting it out there (both live and recording) and it can be disheartening if no one seems to care. I feel honored every day to see people are listening to what I’m making and going outta their way to find and follow me after seeing me play at their fave restaurant, winery, or farmers market. And as silly as all this social media is, we artists do get asked to provide our handles when we apply to perform at festivals and events or send our songs to radio stations and such. As I hit the cute li’l stage of a quaint restaurant on the Oregon coast, the manager graciously asks if I’d like a drink. Peeking at the menu, I order the most delicious sounding thing: blackberry lemonade please. His response floors me: “That’s the same thing Tom Waits ordered 2 days ago…” Apparently the American icon dined at the @yachatsdriftinn 3 days in a row just before I’d arrived. It’s gotta be the biggest thing that’s happened to that town in a decade! The packed place was still booked up with folks trying their luck for a Waits sighting. Thinking on my feet, “This next one’s by a man I hear stopped in here recently. This is Come On Up to The House by Tom Waits.” Crowd goes wild.

My heart’s feelin’ pretty dang full from visiting my old stomping grounds in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas!! Can’t pick a fave part between Grass Valley 4th of July fireworks, Nevada City moonlit river, or playing in Auburn and getting to see my music student Evan perform his 1st real show!!
